The Hull Citadel Band of the Salvation Army has one main aim – to make people aware of the love of Jesus Christ. We do this through our music, our behaviour and through our spoken word.
We are a band of ordinary men and women, with everyday jobs including a university student, accountant, teacher and shop worker all the way through to retired members of our community. We exist in ordinary walks of life knowing the full love of God in our lives.
The music of the band is wide and varied and we aim to provide the Christian message to all who hear. Whether this be through the simple hymn tune or music with a “rock beat”, we hope our music will remind people of God’s love for them.
The band has only been together following the merging of two Salvation Army centres (Hull Central Corps and Hull East Corps). This merger has brought together Salvation Army bands that have a history which stretches back over 120 years, which has seen many people in Hull play in the band and learn both musically and spiritually.
We continue to do our best to grow both musically and spiritually as individuals and as a group of musicians praising and serving Jesus Christ.
